KCYJ 12:30 COMBO | May 2 and May 9
Mr. Burnett, director/instructor
The 12:30 Combo is the newest supplemental ensemble and is in its second semester of officially being offered at Kansas City Youth Jazz. Students learn jazz compositions, study improvisation techniques and practice bandstand management. Heavy emphasis is placed on jazz theory and work toward mastery of song forms. Enrollment is open to all students already participating in an existing KCYJ band and admission is based upon the approval of the instructor. Concert and performance selections will be taken from the compositions and repertoire material studied this semester.
